They Were Four.

This photograph has been taken in Kohima, Nagaland. This particular area is on the way to the Kohima, War Cemetery . I was doing a workshop under Shri. Raghu Rai, at that point of time, courtesy SPICMACAY, National Convention 2008.

This was a very candid shot, i didn't think about any of the elements. I saw those girls smiling and staring at us, and i just wanted to capture it. When i reviewed the photograph on my computer back home, i realized that each of them held a different expression.

I used Photoshop to selective color the photograph. Its one of my personal favorites :)

the journey in.

I choose between the two
Fixed my gaze upon the one that stares right back into it
Until it takes me in
To a world familiar yet unexplored.
Vivid colors….chaos.
Just a child.
It never really ages …does it?
I wish I could be here for long. no reason to do so. not yet.
I wish.
Just a wink….and then there’s a twinkle,
its all over.
The journey ends.

the story of the blue

Although words refuse to give in to my demands of expression:

This story has a dream.

A dream about the distant peace, which occupies the mind.

The blue awaits curiously.
"I know what you mean when you say, you don’t know"

It knows what it is like to fly.
The blue wants peace.
"It was there with me when I did not want it to be.
Now it isn’t"

Violated. Conquered. lost. are just words.
The dream shows the way…or does it?
“Tell me I'm not asleep.
Tell me it is true”

About the photograph: taken in Tarapith, West Bengal, India.
Its the reflection of the sun on the Dwaraka river.

clouds they be

"Cloudy..........

My thoughts are scattered and they're cloudy,

They have no borders, no boundaries.

They echo and they swell
From Tolstoy to Tinker Bell.

Down from Berkeley to Carmel.
Got some pictures in my pocket and a lot of time to kill."

the much needed trip.....

A short trip to Digha ShankarpurMandarmoni and nearby areas by car....in WestBengal, India. all the places situated at a distance of 160 kms (approx) from Kolkata. I wanted to go out of the city for a long time and then just as my impatience reached a saturation point my parents were kind enough to plan this trip. These are popular beach spots in this part of the country. But i wanted to capture something more than that.

coooolest stewpeed tubelyt

"you know moonlight is bleeding from out of your soul".........one particular sunday night, outside of flurrys, parkstreet...we started the process of knowing each other.'movies' and then 'music'.....we found so many things in common.this otherwise very 'introvert' guy and me hit it off instantly.meet DURBAR a.k.a. DURBY.i discovered how well he can 'sing' in our college freshers.he is this very 'helpful' and 'kind', person.....who has an amazing 'memory'. skimming 'pebbles' on water is totally his thing.he should be called the 'chowmein mirinda boy' of our college.this boy has an amazing ability to judge 'eyes'.thanks to him,im into watching 'foreign' movies now...good ones at that. he is indeed very 'witty'...and 'cracks' some nice ones every now and then.god bless.

incase you are wondering why certain words are highlighted....its because of his fascination with "keywords".... :)

okay.

first impressions are way too deceptive to be discussed.well, i think the 'vantage point' lead us to 'the bridge to terabithia'...we share a lot of weird things in common.but have a substantial amount of difference to share also.like he totally defines the term intelligence and has the amazing capability of thinking out of the box.much unlike me.one of the very few people i know who have a good taste in food, music and movies.i can trust him with my camera,(reminds me of ship*sigh*)and he is too good with it.he should consider starting a photo blog... seriously.but i think he is plain lazy or something.man.....this guy is multi-talented....i have no idea what he is doing in our so not amazing college. i mean he plays musical instruments like the guitar and the drums with such ease.....also is into sports, actively.apart from all of this....he makes me lmao (very few people have that capability actually)....if i ever die laughing, you know whom to blame.he is surely going to go a long way.much respect.ohh yeah.......i almost forgot. he be SUYASH^.

what was i thinking ??

the first few days in college i kept thinking...."omg....im not missing school at all....,college is so much more fun" its been a semester....and what was i thinking.. really??? well yeah...we do have a lot of "fun" but i do wonder why school ended...and what the hell am i doing here in college....being the unattractive topic of discussion every now and then....getting involved in unwanted self torturing among other things which i really dont want to talk about.the fact that ship is not here makes things even worse.
so.....the good things about college. yes. the things i look forward to everyday. the multicolored-eyed girl in the ^photograph is AISHA.not only does she have amazing pair of eyes...she has super long hair.something which i can only dream of having.*sigh*.she was one of the first people i talked to, in college.a no nonsense girl she is.complete opposite of what i am.very calm and quite actually. sincere and hardworking.....much unlike me. there is an air of mystery around her. i like that about people.i dont believe in the "my life is an open book" philosophy, quite frankly. she is an aspiring film maker.but very recently we all were acquainted with her amazing walking ways(the kind which involves a ramp on which humans are made to walk like cats...really) GO GIRL !!!! more to come.

ship on sail.

i love to see her make a fool out of herself.i really hate it when she suddenly bursts into tears.i love all the bad things about her. also the very few good things :P yes she actually completes me.but i only realized this when she left.she took away a lot with her...and left back even more.
i miss her. and i am occasionally scared at the thought of forgetting her and vice-versa....but i know its just the start.
thankyou for everything.
(note: she is shriparna sarkar....a tiny asexual alien that eats toothpaste and sticks a green tongue out at strangers....was in school together,is off to pune-symbiosis institute of design....)

a start .

this photo was taken in Bishnupur, which is in the Bankura district of the state of West Bengal,INDIA , during a geography trip from school.more than a year back.
