They Were Four.

This photograph has been taken in Kohima, Nagaland. This particular area is on the way to the Kohima, War Cemetery . I was doing a workshop under Shri. Raghu Rai, at that point of time, courtesy SPICMACAY, National Convention 2008.

This was a very candid shot, i didn't think about any of the elements. I saw those girls smiling and staring at us, and i just wanted to capture it. When i reviewed the photograph on my computer back home, i realized that each of them held a different expression.

I used Photoshop to selective color the photograph. Its one of my personal favorites :)

the journey in.

I choose between the two
Fixed my gaze upon the one that stares right back into it
Until it takes me in
To a world familiar yet unexplored.
Vivid colors….chaos.
Just a child.
It never really ages …does it?
I wish I could be here for long. no reason to do so. not yet.
I wish.
Just a wink….and then there’s a twinkle,
its all over.
The journey ends.

the story of the blue

Although words refuse to give in to my demands of expression:

This story has a dream.

A dream about the distant peace, which occupies the mind.

The blue awaits curiously.
"I know what you mean when you say, you don’t know"

It knows what it is like to fly.
The blue wants peace.
"It was there with me when I did not want it to be.
Now it isn’t"

Violated. Conquered. lost. are just words.
The dream shows the way…or does it?
“Tell me I'm not asleep.
Tell me it is true”

About the photograph: taken in Tarapith, West Bengal, India.
Its the reflection of the sun on the Dwaraka river.

clouds they be

"Cloudy..........

My thoughts are scattered and they're cloudy,

They have no borders, no boundaries.

They echo and they swell
From Tolstoy to Tinker Bell.

Down from Berkeley to Carmel.
Got some pictures in my pocket and a lot of time to kill."

the much needed trip.....

A short trip to Digha ShankarpurMandarmoni and nearby areas by car....in WestBengal, India. all the places situated at a distance of 160 kms (approx) from Kolkata. I wanted to go out of the city for a long time and then just as my impatience reached a saturation point my parents were kind enough to plan this trip. These are popular beach spots in this part of the country. But i wanted to capture something more than that.

unless i want to.....

this snap was taken on the terrace of a building situated at one of the busiest roads in kolkata...esplanade. this aint an abandoned building. on the terrace itself, while randomly clicking away,we noticed a family comfortably settled out there.
